Where can you get some practical advice from people who have been there, done that. This article will answer these questions and help you decide if you are able to write that code. If you find it too complicated there are a few commercial products out there that will handle everything for you so don't lose heart if you find yourself stuck.

 Instant Payment Notification is better known as PayPal IPN and is PayPal's interface for handling real time confirmation of purchases. A typical use for IPN is where you want a customer to pay for a software download.

 PayPal provide 3 different types of account. Personal, Premier and Business. You will need Premier or Business to use IPN.

If you do not have online access, you must wait until you receive your statement in the mail to get the 4-digit code. If you are adding a debit card to your PayPal account, your 4-digit Expanded Use code will be printed on your bank statement next to the charge.

 Once you get the 4-digit code, you have to return to your PayPal account to enter the code per instructions from PayPal. Once completed, and PayPal confirms that you entered the correct code, you will now be able to use the card for PayPal transactions. The Expanded Use verification process is designed to protect you against fraud by verifying that the person attempting to use the credit card actually owns the card. PayPal will later credit the amount charged to your card to your PayPal account.

 Now, here lies the problem with using prepaid or bank issued gift cards. If PayPal is unable to verify your address with the gift card issuer, then you may be asked to go through the Expanded Use process. Since most prepaid gift cards do not issue monthly statements or provide online access to gift card transactions, it will be impossible to complete the Expanded Use process. Also, it is not a good idea to call the credit card or gift card issuer to get the 4-digit Expanded Use code. If PayPal receives a complaint from your card issuer that you called them to get the 4-digit code, PayPal will close your account permanently.

 So, the first step to attempting to use a prepaid gift card on PayPal is to make sure the name and address (billing address) on your PayPal account matches the name and address on file with the gift card issuer. If you just purchased your prepaid gift card, call the card issuer and add your name and address to the card. If your information (name and address) has changed since you registered your card, call the card issuer or go online and update your information before you use the card on PayPal.

 Once this is done, you just have to hope that PayPal is able to successfully verify your address with the gift card issuer. If they are able to verify your address, then you are all set. If they cannot verify your address with the card issuer, then you probably will not be able to use that gift card on PayPal.

But be ready with another whooping $350.00 [again change the amount to peso lol] for the annual fee, and plug in a good 500 peso bill in the counter to have the card some transaction history. This is important. Don't skip the steps above.

 After 2-3 days go to your UnionBank's ATM machine and check your savings balance. If you see your 500 pesoses in there then all is good, go to a nearby church and thank God.

 EON Cyber Account application is a Must

 Then after a few hours or even minutes or yes even seconds go online and apply for UnionBank's EON online banking, you won't miss it, I don't want to give live links so use Google and search "unionbank Philippines" or something like that and register. Then you have to wait 1-3 weeks depending on the mood of the data entry guy till your EON online banking gets approved.

 Now go and log in to your Paypal account, click on the lift the limits tab and add the EON Visa Credit card. If you are able to Log in now to the EON online Banking, eBanking or Cyber account thingamajig then in less than 48 hours you can get the EXPUSE number needed to have for your Paypal to have it's limits waived off.

 The EXPUSE is next to the transaction thing with the word PAYPAL written all over.

 And there you have it, Paypal will deduct at least a 100+ pesos in your EON Visa Card and will gladly pay you back the $1.95 [this time its USD] through Paypals credits.

 I reckon you will try and apply for a premium Paypal membership to get the ball rolling and have all the limits erase for you to withdraw the money in your account to your EON Credit Card. Paypal will take 3 days for the money to clear and have transaction completed and your UnionBank system will eat up 3-5 days to have the money showing in your EON Card Account. After which you can swipe and buy stuff with your VISA Card or if not withdraw the money in an ATM and enjoy life to the fullest. LOL

 Over all time frame till SHOW ME THE MONEY. This is a rough estimate to erase all your high hopes NOYPI style.

 14-28 days, 2-3 Weeks = EON Debit Visa Credit Card Application 
2-3 days = EON Debit Visa Credit Card test transaction e.g. ATM money check account balance etc. 
7-28 days, 1-3 Weeks = EON Debit Visa Credit Card Cyber Account or eBanking application and approval 
1-3 days = EON Debit Visa Credit Card added to Paypal and to have Paypal send you the EXPUSE number 
1-2 days = EON Debit Visa Credit Card Cyber Account or eBanking online shows the EXPUSE number 
1-2 days = EON Debit Visa Credit Card Cyber added to Paypal with Expuse number and become Verified 
7-14 days 1-2 Weeks= Withdrawing and Clearing of money to your EON Debit Visa Credit Card from Paypal 
TOTAL = roughly 4-8 Weeks till you get your online money to be going straight to the real world. Not bad eh? That's life live with it.

PayPal states that it prefers disputes to be rectified without the need for PayPal intervention, but there is an option for either buyer or seller to escalate disputes to PayPal for a decision.

 This process continues until an agreement between buyer and seller is agreed or if escalated to PayPal, PayPal reaches a decision. The money is only released to the seller once an agreement has been reached and providing a refund as not been issued.

 New changes in PayPal's procedure means PayPal can hold onto the sellers funds for either a 21 day or 180 day period, which all sellers need to be aware of.

You may think at first that all countries are there, but I have realized some years ago that Lebanon is not among the countries available in the PayPal application form countries list, and later on while communicating with friends from Egypt, I realized that Egypt is also not available among the PayPal countries, and neither are a lot of other countries, so how to proceed if you cannot create a PayPal email in your country.

Along the years, I have tried many methods to have a PayPal account active. Why? Because more and more, PayPal is becoming the official currency online. On many sites, it's only possible to purchase software or books or even goods if you don't have PayPal. I first tried to register myself as a US citizen. Actually, I have a US address that I use for shipping goods from the United States through Aramex, and using that address I was able to create a PayPal email. Having a PayPal email, I began looking for ways to fund it. I tried assigning a credit card to it, but this was not possible, because all the time the credit cards I assigned were rejected as not valid. What I understood later on was that it was necessary for the credit card to be accepted to be in the same country as the PayPal account, that is USA.

 I also thought about creating a bank account in the US through friends or relatives that I have there, or through a local bank that has a branch there, but then I found a way to fund my PayPal account without linking any card or bank, by selling things online and getting paid to my PayPal address. But then, I got a terrible surprise, when I tried to purchase something with the funds I have in my PayPal account, my purchase got rejected, because it said my account wasn't verified.

 Long story short, the only way to have a usable PayPal account in your country (if your country is not available in the country list of the PayPal application form) is to create a US issued credit card. The surest way to do that is to get an American Express Credit Card, because from all the Credit Cards available, the American Express Cards are the only ones always issued in the USA, and carrying the most security for the online transactions, and this is probably what makes them acceptable as per PayPal terms.

 Once you have your American Express Credit Card, link your PayPal account registered in the US with your American Express Credit Card, and fund it, then you can use for all your purchases online, and that's it. Easy but efficient way to use PayPal in any country and by anyone around the world.

Getting The Most Out of Your PayPal Account

 If you are an eBay user then you know that there is no way around using PayPal. PayPal basically owns you, and your eBay account. They control what you sell, how you sell it, and when you get your money that you have earned from selling. No matter what you do or how you look at it PayPal is in control. In a way, you kind of work for eBay and PayPal. You really do not have near as much control over your business as you think when dealing with eBay and PayPal.



Considering the fact that you have no choice in the matter, I suggest that you get the most out of your PayPal account as long as you are being forced to use it. PayPal has a few special features that I would like to talk about in this article. Having a PayPal account can have its perks, and it is your right to take full advantage of every single one of them. If you are going to be an eBay seller, you need to know everything about both eBay and PayPal.

 The first feature I want to talk about is the PayPal debit card. This is single handedly the one feature that makes PayPal halfway decent in my eyes. If I did not have the PayPal debit card I do not know what I would do. I rarely use my bank account to withdrawal my money from my PayPal account. Every single day I go to the closest ATM and take out all of the money that is in my PayPal account. If you have read my article about not losing money with PayPal then you know why. If you have not read it, then do it as soon as possible. It is nice to be able to have my money in my hand right after I sell an item. If I make 100 dollars on eBay, I can get that hundred dollars the minute it enters my PayPal account with my PayPal debit card. That is by far my favorite feature that PayPal offers, and it costs nothing to get the debit card.

 The next feature that I like about PayPal is the credit card. The PayPal credit card is nice because I never have to worry about keeping money in my PayPal account for eBay fees, or for items I may want to purchase on eBay. I can easily just use my PayPal credit card just as if it were cash in my account. Since I do not like to keep my money in my PayPal account, this is very useful. The card offers good rates, and offers some good bonuses.

 Whatever it may be, I highly recommend taking full advantage of anything special that PayPal offers. You do not have any other options when you are talking about payments on eBay. PayPal really is the only way to go, like it or not. If I could use a different payment process I would, but since I can't I make sure to take advantage of whatever PayPal offers.
